Weakening the army means weakening Pakistan:Pervaiz Elahi

Chaudhry Pervaiz ElahiLahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that weakening the army amounted to weakening Pakistan, entire nation was so very much concerned over dangerous propaganda campaign against Pak Army from which India was drawing most benefit and govt silence over it was quite meaningful.

Talking to PML leaders and senior workers at his residence today, Ch Parvez Elahi said that hostile campaign was started through statements of important ministers under a well-conceived plan and in doing so they even ignored sacrifices of the Pak Army for the country and the nation.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that that N-League should not resort to replay of attack on the Supreme Court on other national institutions, anyone believing in the national security, solidarity and integrity could not even think about defaming, demoralizing and weakening the Pak Army.

He said that the present rulers who talk a lot about the parliament and other institutions have never recognized and accepted any institution, are not they the same who had stormed the Supreme Court and got firing on journalists. Shahbaz Sharif himself was leading storming of the Supreme Court and was also distributing food among the attackers, he added. He said that anyone having respect for the national institutions could not indulge in any such activity.

Ch Parvez Elahi further said that the rulers should pay full attention to the real problems of the people who were committing collective suicides due to poverty. Dearness of essential and other articles was touching the skies, life, honour and property of none was save, unemployment was on the rise, crime was rising at record pace, people hit by load shedding of electricity were unable to pay such hefty bills and it has become difficult for common and poor man even to breathe and live, he concluded.
