First come first serve policy would be adopted at Wheat Procurement Centers:

Dr Farrukh JavaidLahore: Provincial Minister for Agriculture Dr. Farrukh Javed has said that practical measures will be taken for the facility of farmers and cultivators at Wheat Procurement Centers. He said that Punjab government with the cooperation of farmers will achieve the target of wheat procurement throughout the province.

He said that first come first serve policy and merit will be implemented in the distribution of gunny bags and procurement of wheat. He said that process of distribution of gunny bags to the cultivators will be started from April 25 in district Khushab.

He expressed these views while talking to the journalists during his visit to Khushab for reviewing wheat procurement campaign. He also presided over a meeting at DCO office, here today. DFC Malik Masood Nawaz, DOs Agriculture Faiz Muhammad Kundi, DO Water Management Muhammad Mansha, Assistant Commissioner Khushab Saadat Pervaiz, Naib Tehsildar Fatehullah and other officers were present on the occasion.

Giving briefing to the meeting, DFC informed that target for procurement of one lakh ninety thousand bags of wheat has been fixed. He told that 55 thousand bags would be purchased from Quaid-e-Bad Center, one lakh five thousand bags from Johar Abad Center while thirty thousand bags of wheat would be procured from Khushab Center.

The meeting was informed that process of gunny bags distribution to the farmers will be started from April 25. Later, the Minister visited procurement centers Johar Abad and Khushab and inspected gunny bags and other facilities.
