Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated Christian community on the eve of Easter and said that Christians are playing an active role for the development and stability of the country.
In a felicitation message, the Chief Minister said that provision of equal opportunities of progress, basic rights and protection of life and property of minorities is the responsibility of the state and Punjab government is fulfilling its responsibility in an efficient manner.
Shahbaz Sharif said that all minorities including Christianity community have complete freedom of worship according to their religions. He said that according to the teachings of Islam, respect to all the prophets is our religious obligation. He said that belief in all the prophets including the Christ is integral part of Islam.
The Chief Minister said that Pakistan is facing a number of problems and the need for inter-religion harmony has increased now. He said that on the occasion of Easter, followers of all the religions will have to pledge to play their active role for the progress and prosperity of the country.
