I am helpless in Mahmood Khan case:Rana Arshad admits while addressing Babu Baral’s anniversary ceremony

Lahore: Provincial Parliamentary Sectary on Information and Culture, Rana Muhammad Arshad has said that the artists entertaining the people through their comedy are appreciable. He said that artists are an identity of the society. He said that personalities like Babbu Baral are a source of relieving mental tension.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of a function held on the occasion of third death anniversary of late Babbu Baral under the aegis of a private association at Alhamra Hall today.

Rana Arshad said that Babbu Baral and other comedians used their art for entertaining the people and they have great respect in the society.

Speaking about an artist Mehmood Khan, Rana Muhammad Arshad said that Punjab government is playing its active role for the promotion of art and welfare of the artists. He said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, financial assistance of fifty thousand rupees will be given to Mehmood Khan while his monthly financial assistance has already been doubled.

He said that recommendations have been sent for increasing the financial assistance for Mehmood Khan three times while Punjab government will provide free treatment facility to him.
