Lahore: Punjab Minister for Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has pledged to bring past glory of Lahore as “City of Gardens” through rehabilitation of all deserted parks lying in various nooks and corners of Lahore specially in the Punjab Assembly constituency-149 being represented by himself.
The Minister was addressing to the residents of UC-79, Bilal Park, Sham nagar, Lahore who were celebrating the earth breaking ceremony of the rehabilitation work of Bilal Park in their neighborhood. Member National Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, PML-N workers Ch. Jamshaid Jutt, Nadeem-ul-Hassan Shah, Ch.Khalid Aziz and others were also present on the occasion.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan informed the residents of his constituency that five deserted parks lying in UC-79 have been already rehabilitated and the children are provided with the latest recreational facilities in these parks. Patch work of the main road Shamnagar Lahore has been completed while work on installation of a new tube well and laying of new pipeline for clean drinking water supply will commence shortly. The Minister said, Government Aziz-e-Millat School will be shifted to another place. The new venue has been identified and the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved a fund to the tune of rupees 20 million to construct the new building of this school in UC-85 Sandha which collapsed sometime back when it was housed in a rental building.
The Minister announced to establish a new public sector school in Bund Park, Sandha Lahore which will be made functional at the earliest. Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed MNA in his speech promised that the required funds for allocating suitable land for a new graveyard in PP-151 area will be released in the next fiscal year positively.
