Lahore: After approval of “Punjab Fair Representation of Women Act 2014”, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has so far received 558 applications.
According to spokesman of PITB, 1581 people have so far visited web portal while 35 applications have been received for art & culture, 64 for public sector corporations and companies, 57 for public sector foundations, 111 for public sector organizations, 116 for public sector universities, 58 for regulatory bodies, 72 for research and development institutions and 45 for special taskforces and committees.
It may be mentioned that Punjab Assembly has approved “Punjab Fair Representation of Women Act 2014” for the talented women to play their fullest role in decision making, under which 33% representation will be given to the prominent and experienced women in various sectors including public sector corporations, companies, public sector foundations, art & culture institutions, public sector organizations, public sector universities, regulatory bodies, research and development institutions, special taskforces and committees, Board of Directors, Board of Management and syndicate of public universities.
