Hafeez takes responsibility of defeat against WI and step down

Muhammad HafeezLahore: Pakistan cricket team Captain Muhammad Hafeez took the responsibility of the defeat against West Indies in T20 World Cup and stepped down as T20 captain, he also resigned as vice captain of test and One Day International (ODI) cricket.

After having meeting with Chairman PCB  Najam Sethi here at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday, Hafeez talked to media  along with coach Moin Khan and  said that he had offered the resignation by himself, and admitted that players’ performance was not up to the mark in the last match.“We played very bad game” he added.

Hafeez said that he would accept any decision of the  PCB in this regard.

Coach Moin Khan said his  contract with PCB had ended,in this case there was no need to tender resignation.IF PCB wanted his resignation then they would not extend my contract.”I will accept whatever PCB Chairman decides about renewal of contract”he maintained.

He said that Pakistan performance was good in the tournament except the last game that ousted us from the world cup.

He further said that the media was praising the performances of these players before the match, and that the same media is now criticizing the team and management.
Media has started terming the same players as ‘zero’ who were earlier termed as ‘hero’, he said.

It is worth mention here that the first time Pakistan had failed to reach the semi-finals in the five editions of the tournament.
