Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday contacted the newly elected Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Sirajul Haq, by telephone, greeted him on his election to the top slot of the JI, Pakistan and expressed good wishes for him.
The Prime Minister told Sirajul Haq that consultation and cooperation between the government and the JI was essential for the solution of the problems facing the country. Sirajul Haq thanked the Prime Minister for his kind gesture.
Federal Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan in a letter to Sirajul Haq, lauded the constructive role of the JI in the national affairs and expressed the hope that contacts between the government and the JIP would continue for the betterment of the nation and the country. He expressed the hope that the JIP under a young leadership would play much better role in national development. JUI(F) central leader Hafiz Husain Ahmed, called on Sirajul Haq on Wednesday and greeted him on his election as Ameer, JIP.
Meanwhile, the Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Hind, India, Maulana Jalalud Din Umri, in a message, congratulated Sirajul Haq and prayed for his steadfastness in the face of the numerous challenges before the JIP. He was confident that the JIP, under the leadership of Sirajul Haq, would make much better efforts for the enforcement of the Islamic order in the country and the welfare of the country. He also paid tributes to the outgoing Ameer of the JIP, Syed Munawar Hasan.
The chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Held Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah Wani, convener of the Tehrik e Hurriyat Kashmir, Ghulam Muhammad Safi and Editor of the Urdu daily Islam, have also greeted the newly elected Ameer of the JIP.
