Punjab Assembly approves “Punjab Fair Representation of Women Act 2014”

Lahore: Punjab Assembly has approved “Punjab Fair Representation of Women Act 2014” for the talented women to play their fullest role in decision making, under which 33% representation will be given to the prominent and experienced women in various sectors including public sector corporations, companies, public sector foundations, art & culture institutions, public sector organizations, public sector universities, regulatory bodies, research and development institutions, special task forces and committees, Board of Directors, Board of Management and syndicate of public universities.

According to the spokesman of Punjab Information Technology Board, 1126 people have visited web portal while 28 applications have been received for art & culture, 51 for public sector corporations and companies, 45 for public sector foundations, 84 for public sector organizations, 90 for public sector universities, 48 for regulatory bodies, 59 for research and development institutions and 36 for special task forces and committees.
