PJU protest for the arrest of the attackers

Lahore:Punjab Union of Journalists have staged a demonstration against the deadly attack on Express News anchor Raza Rumi and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits and the people who planned this attack.President PUJ Waseem farooq Shahid and president Lahore Press Club jointly led the demonstration.A number of journalist who joined this demo shouted from throat for the arrest of the accused.

They also demanded security for the journalist.At the occasion,president LPC asked the EMRA and PUJ to become applicant in this case and made possible the arrest of the criminals who were involved in the attack.

President PUJ Waseem Farooq Shahid said that he was also being threatned but he will not take security till all the UJ’s would be protected.

Members of Civil society and  PTI ‘s local leadership also come to join protest for showing unity with the journalist community.

Presdient Ejaz Ch severely condemned the attack on Raza Roomi and expressed great grief and sorrow on the killing on his driver he said that it w+as shameful act from the criminal elements against the freedom of the press. He said while a lot of attentions has been paid for the security of the leaders by the laghari for the prime minister given all assurance of extra security to him, while the media persons who were at the maximum risk because they were exposing the truths to the society were not being given the security they deserve. He said that the govt. had totally failed to protect any segments of the society being a politician or the civil society people or media people and the ordinary citizens of Pakistan.
