Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that economy of Punjab has been put on the road to self-reliance by improving financial discipline, observing austerity and curtailing non-developmental expenditures. He said that all out resources are being spent on the provision of basic facilities, development and prosperity of the people in a transparent manner. He said that mega projects have been completed in education, health, infrastructure and social development sectors in the province through which people are benefitting.
The Chief Minister said that various programmes for providing relief to the poor families are continuing successfully. He said that good governance has been promoted for providing best services to the people, resolving their problems and grievances. He expressed the hope that Pakistan Muslim League-N government will come up to the expectations of the people and honour all promises made with them.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Assembly Members, party office-bearers and workers belonging to various districts at Raiwind today. Former Ambassador of China to Pakistan Zhang Chun Xiang also met to the CM Punjab.
Shahbaz Sharif said that transparency and merit has always been the hallmark of PML-N in government affairs and policies. He said that the goal of development can only be achieved through implementing merit policy and corruption-free system. He said that merit policy is being implemented strictly in the province and solid measures have also been taken for eliminating corruption.
The Chief Minister said that the corrupt system and corruption are big hurdles in the development of the country and development targets cannot be achieved without rooting out corruption. He said that every person has to play his role for purging the society of corruption. He said that all development projects in Punjab have been completed in a transparent manner.
