Lahore: The procedure of allotment of plots at Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park will be completely on merit. It is the latest project of Punjab Government, whose objective is to attract investment from industrialists.
This was stated by Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Ch Muhammad Shafique while presiding over a first meeting of committee regarding plots allotment at Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park held at Lahore, today. He said that this committee has been formulated to lay down specific guidelines and procedures to ensure a fair, equitable and transparent mechanism for plots allotment. This park will be established 38km away from Thokar Niaz Baig near Lahore. He said that this Punjab Apparel Park will be comprised of 1500 acres land.
The provincial minister told that different proposals are being considered related to its construction and map but no one has been finalized so far. He said that plots at Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park will be allotted to those people who seriously want to do business. He said that the infrastructure of this park will be according to International standards and will be equipped with modern technology.
The Minister told that China has assured complete cooperation in establishment and investment of this park.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that provincial government is setting up a state-of-the-art Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park near motorway. He said that prominent Chinese Company Shingdong Royai has made investment of billions of dollars in textile and energy sectors in Punjab and will also invest in the provision of infrastructure in Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park.
He expressed these views at a high level meeting here today in which a detailed briefing was given regarding the recent visit of a delegation of Punjab government to China.
