Manais launches vocational training programme for special persons

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manais has said that Special Education Department is launching vocational training programme for special persons in which special training would be provided to the teachers. He said that Special Education Department Punjab is distributing 221 generators among special educational institutions next week so that the educational activities should not affect due to loadshedding.

He stated this while addressing a ceremony of prizes among special persons in connection with Punjab Youth Festival at Town Hall, here today. District Education Officer Shehzad Haroon Bhutta, Director Special Education Faazil Cheema, Fokal Person Rana Khalid, Ch.Fayyaz Bhatti, Muhammad Khalid Awan, heads of special education institutions, teachers and a large number of special children attended the ceremony.

Asif Saeed Manais said that a special committee is being set up on the directions of government which will bring improvement in every walk of life and provide facilities to special persons. He said that government is paying special attention to the education and rehabilitation of special children so that they could also lead their lives like normal children.

The Provincial Minister said that special children played an active role in setting records in Punjab Youth Festival which is laudable. He said that government is making all out efforts for rehabilitation of special children so that they could become independent instead of relying on the society. Later, the Provincial Minister gave away shields to special children, heads and teachers of special educational institutions.

On this occasion, special children presented colourful programmes. Asif Seed Manais appreciated the national songs by special children. Earlier, District Education Officer Shehzad Haroon presented address of welcome and lauded the performance of special children in youth festival.
