Allottees are not allowed to build their houses in DHA

Lahore, March 11, (PR) The allottees of  Phase-viii of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) have expressed grave concern over the authorities concerned for not letting them allow construct their houses on allotted plots.
Talking to the media outside Lahore Press  Club, the aggrieved persons said the DHA had developed Phase-viii after purchasing 2300 Kanal land from former Air Avenue Society in 2007 and issued its possession letters to more than 80 percent allottees.
They said that there were 500 houses and 1700 plots size from 5 marla to 2 kanal were lying vacant in Phase-viii but the DHA authorities despite receiving all development charges from the allottees were not allowing them to build their houses.
The allottees are facing disturbance and anxiety over the attitude of DHA authorities for not allowing them to construct houses at allotted plots, they said.
On the other side, the residents of Phase- viii alleged that electricity were provided to them on commercial rates, in addition to they were also facing the problem of over billing.They also alleged that construction of grid station, security arrangements, boundary wall of society, park for children and the provision of potable water schemes etc have not so far been completed in the phase-viii.
The residents and allottees of Phase-viii vowed that they would move to court against the  DHA authorities if their demands were not met.
