Imran lashes govt for police torture on the nurses

Imran lashes govt for torture on the nurses Ijaz ch participated nurses sit inLahore 10-03-14: PTI Chairman Imran Khan today participated in a strike by the Young nurses association demanding that their contract be made permanent addressing a dharna given by the nurses outside the press club. Imran Khan  said that it is shameful how daughters of Pakistan forced to be out on the streets demanding their basic working rights he said that the nursing profession like most of the other professions are victim of PML-N govt. negligence.

PTI Punjab president Ijaz Ch said the first the govt. tortures the lady health workers to come out on streets and sick for days for demand be made to be given a permanent contract and now the nurses have been forced to do the same. He said it is the shame that PML-N govt. on the international women day announced the package for women but such package contained nothing for the ordinary women. He demanded from the govt. that these nurses should be given a fixed contract and also regardless of the province from where they belong should be given equal treatment.

PTI Sec.general Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that the nursing profession was the noblest profession as the worst of patients whom there whole families are hesitant to treat are treated by these nurses and thus this nursing is a backbone of health care system. She said that in the Pakistan the demand gap for doctors was 40% while demand gap for nursing was 80% thus it was ridiculous that the govt. was not giving the permanent contract as already there is a high shortage of theirs kin in the county . She said PTI will raise their voice against injustice not only by participating in this dharna but by raising issue in the Punjab assembly where all PTI MPA’s will force PML-N govt. to take corrective measure.

PTI MPA Shanila Rout said that the nurses were the daughters of this country and it was the duty of every Pakistani to protect their rights. She said that she will along with leader of the Opposition prepare a move against this injustice against the assembly and will demand restoration of the contract of these nurses and also a proper service structure which facilitated their job security there training and other benefits.

Anayatullah Nurses union council coordinator thanked the PTI leadership and said that the PTI was only political party which had supported both the lady health workers and the nurses and were the only hope of this country to take care of the injustices been done to the women and minorities suffering at the hands of PML-N.

Taimoor Bhatti, Farhan Chishti, Naveed Ansari, Shehryar Raza and others were also present.
