Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited site of Aashiyana Iqbal on Barki Road for two hours during heavy rain today. The Chief Minister was first given a briefing about the proposed project of Aashiyana Iqbal.
Expressing his dissatisfaction over the briefing the Chief Minister inquired about the project of construction of roads but the concerned officers could not give any reply upon which Shahbaz Sharif expressed his strong indignation and lamented that concerned officers have no knowledge about the project of construction of roads. He warned that strict accountability of the concerned officers showing negligence towards Aashiyana Iqbal will be held. He said that national resources are trust of the masses and their utilization on the welfare of the people is his responsibility.
Shahbaz Sharif inspected various sections of Aashiyana Iqbal during the rain and reviewed the situation by walking on foot in the mud. The Chief Minister expressed strong indignation over the disappointing performance of Punjab Land Development Company and ordered strict action against the concerned officers.
