Lahore: 10-03-2014:Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have said that in the reorganization of Muslim League, lawyers’ community was once again reiterating their full affiliation with our party which was very appreciable.
They said this while talking to a delegation of Rawalpindi Bar Association headed by its newly-elected President Raja Mohammad Nasir which called on them at their residence here today. The lawyers’ delegation also attended the luncheon reception hosted by Ch Shujat Hussain. Delegation included Abdul Rashid, former Additional Advocate General Shafqat Munir among others while on this occasion PML Central Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Central Secretary Information Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Senior Vice-President Punjab Mohammad Basharat Raja and President Rawalpindi Raja Nasir were also present.
Ch Shujat Hussain further said that we have had close relationship with lawyers’ community right from the beginning and we had always taken ideal steps for their welfare and well-being whenever we got the opportunity. He said with the blessings of Almighty Allah, success of our supported candidates in the Punjab Bar Council and lawyers district bodies’ elections reflected the unity among our party and the lawyers’ community.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that in the Punjab during our tenure steps were taken without any discrimination for ensuring provision of cheap and quick justice to the people and for the welfare and well-being of the lawyers, throughout the province from tehsil up to high court all bar associations were given grant in aid without any exception and this process continued for five years, we establish public prosecution in Punjab for speedy decisions of the cases which also created new job opportunities for lawyers. He said further that under the Access to Justice Programme, new judicial complexes were also established besides construction of new jails in Punjab and provision of amenities to the prisoners.
