NCA Production Got The Best Film Award

LAHORE (March 10, 2014): The Film Festival organised under the banner of the Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) 2014 concluded at the Alhamra Cultural Complex on Monday.

The special awards were given to the Six Best Films of Six Different Categories. Provincial Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony while DG Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Usman Anwar and CEO of EcoStar Rizwan Butt were also present on the occasion.

Students of various Educational Institutions exhibited their films in different categories and after the inspection of jury, the Best Films were selected. “Land of Fire Flies” directed by NCA Multimedia Department’s Haroon Habib won the Fiction Film award while “Kalu” directed by Naveed Anjum was named the second best film of the same category.

Murtaza Mart belonging to NCA Film and TV Department won the best award on Documentary Film “Narr Surr” while “Sheedi Badshah” film directed by Adnan Kardar was declared the second best of the category. In the Short Film Category, AR Naeem’s Film won the first award while film “Depressed Girl” directed by Francus Lejaut was second.

Zainab Almahye’s Film “Light of Life” won the first position in Animated Film Category while Gregor Dashuber’s film “Never Drive a Car” earned the second place in the same category. Aqsa Masood of Kinnaird College’s film “Umeed Saher” won the Short Movie Category award while the same college’s Anjum Jastan’s film “Zindigi Aik Ameed” got the second place award. Hadle Kaliman’s film “Approach” won the first award in the Experimental Film Category while Vishal Rajput’s film “Anjan Log Gummnam Kahani” was the runners up.

Addressing at the Prize Distribution Ceremony of Film Festival on Monday, the Minister said: “The Punjab Government will do every possible effort to turn the dreams of the youth into reality and our youth has proved that Pakistanis are the most intelligent Nation of the world.” He also appreciated the hard work of students belonging to different Educational Institutions for producing several quality Dramas and Documentary Films.
