Government is trying to eliminate hoarding:Bilal Yaseen

Provincial Minister for Food & Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said that provincial government is pursuing a comprehensive policy for stabilizing the prices of essential items so that hoarding could be eliminated and daily use items available to the people at cheaper rates.

He said this while addressing a meeting of Price Control Committee at Town Hall today. DCO Lahore Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi, TMOs and TMAs attended the meeting.

Provincial Minister directed that the price list at the shops should be displayed conspicuously. Similarly, parking system should also be improved in the bazaars for the convenience of consumers and foolproof security arrangements should be made with the cooperation of local police, he added. Bilal Yasin said that government has set up 44 Sahulat bazaars and quality essential items are being provided to the people through these bazaars. He directed that either concerned tehsil municipal officer should remain present in these bazaars or duty should be assigned to any responsible officer.

Provincial Minister said that awareness regarding dengue should also be created among the people so that people could be protected from diseases including dengue. He said that magistrates working as moving courts should discharge their duties diligently as they are authorized to impose fine, give punishment or both in case of violation.

Bilal Yasin said that every person should supplement the efforts of the government against price-hike. He also asked the traders to extend cooperation to government so that edible items could be available to the people at reasonable rates.
