Khan dismay over Indian Govt.behavoiur

Imran KhanLahore: Chairman PTI Imran Khan today expressed dismay over the decision by an Indian university to expel Kashmiri students who cheered for Pakistan’s victory over India in the Asia Cup cricket tournament.

Khan said this was unsportsmanlike behaviour and not in the liberal tradition of universities. He added that for the Indian government to seek sedition charges against these students for supporting Pakistan’s cricket team in a match was absolutely inexplicable and disturbing.

Sports has always been a means of furthering peace but here intolerance has reared its ugly head. Khan said cricket had helped bridge bridges between Pakistan and India, especially in times when relations were strained between the two states. “That is why the present reaction by the Indian government and the University in question is as distressing as it is inexplicable”, Khan concluded.
