Lahore: A high level Jamaat e Islami delegation headed by the JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, currently in Iran, on Wednesday called on
Director General, Asian Affairs of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Mehdi Banizada, and exchanged views with him on bilateral relations including trade, unity of the Muslim Ummah.
At the meeting, Liaqat Baloch said that the three Muslim countries in the region, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan would gain a lot if the relations between them were close and friendly. He said that the unity of the Ummah was the crying need of the moment especially because the world powers were conspiring to divide the Muslim Ummah.
He said the people of Pakistan were also concerned over the abduction of Iranian security guards and the Pakistan government was trying its best to recover them. Besides, he said, there was need to develop the trade between the two countries on sound footing.
