Punjab government decides to set up Youth Placement Bureaus

Minister Education rana mashud ahmad khanLahore: Punjab government has decided to set up Youth Placement Bureaus at district level to give internship on the basis of qualification 20 thousand youth completing education of 16 years duration. The bureau will start working within seven days.

This was stated by Provincial Minister Education and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan while presiding over a meeting to review Punjab Youth Internship Programme. Secretary Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Khan Khitchi, Secretary Commerce & Industries Irfan Ali and senior officers of concerned departments were present.

The meeting was informed that youth placement bureaus will carry out skill matching of the youth obtaining internship at district level. Under this programme, 80 thousand postgraduate boy and girl students had applied for six months internship at subsistence allowance of Rs. 12 thousand per month. Out of these, 57 thousand candidates were selected for phased placement in their native districts.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan expressed satisfaction that 80 percent of youth who were sent for six months internship to Sundar Industrial Estate and other private industrial organizations have been given permanent jobs in the same institutions after completion of their internship.
