A delegation of Pakistan Focus Group UK visit Lahore

Lahore: Chairman Pakistan Focus Group, UK, Bishop Tony Robinson along with a five-member delegation met Punjab Minister for Housing, Communication & Works and Public Health Engineering, Tanveer Aslam Awan and Chairman Lahore Transport Company Kh. Ahmad Hassaan at 90-Shara-e-Quaid-e-Azam.

Members of the delegation included President Bright Future Society Samuel Piara, Director Police Community Trust, UK, Canon Yaqub Masih, Chairman Pakistan Christian Concern Alvin Jalal Din and Coordination Officer Pervez Barkat. This group will help Punjab government to install water filtration plants for provision of clean drinking water to the citizens. Managing Director WASA and Secretary Housing were also present on the occasion. The delegation told the Minister that currently 40% causalities are occurring due to use of dirty water and provision of potable water to the masses with the cooperation of government is of utmost importance..

Provincial Minister Tanveer Aslam Awan apprised the members of the delegation of the steps taken by Punjab government to provide clean drinking water to the masses and assured them that filtration plants will be installed with their cooperation and experience. They also appreciated the steps taken by Punjab government for the protection of Churches and Christian community and said that they are thankful to Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in this regard.

The Minister apprised the delegation that Punjab Governor had inaugurated a water filtration plant in Gojra last month which is a successful experience.
