Lahore: Provincial Minister for Local Government and Law, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that provision of comfortable and standard travelling facilities to the people is top priority of present government. In the light of the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, work has been started for the preparation of feasibility report with regard to launching of metro bus service in Multan, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held to review preparation work of feasibility for metro bus service in Faisalabad, at 8-Club Road, here today. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Rai Haider Ali, Member Public Affairs to Chief Minister M. Mansha Ullah Butt, Minister for Human Rights Khalil Tahir Sindhu, Members National Assembly Azim Nazir, Nisar Jutt, Parliamentary Secretaries Rajab Ali Baloch, Muhammad Afzal Khan, Muhammad Ilyas Ansari, Members Standing Committees Azad Ali Tabasum, Iffat Meraj, Rai Usman Kharal, Arif Mahmood Gill, Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Members Provincial Assembly, MD Punjab Metro Bus Authority Sibtain Fazl-e-Haleem, G. M. Muhammad Aziz Shah, Commissioner, DCO and CTO Faisalabad were also present on the occasion.
Rana Sanaullah Khan said that welfare of the common man is hallmark of the present government. He said that popularity of metro bus in Lahore has disappointed the critics and about two lakh people are benefitting from this service daily. He said that Lahore Metro Bus Service has become our identity throughout the world while expansion of scope of this service to other cities will raise the image of Pakistan in the comity of nations.
Earlier, MD Punjab Metro Bus Authority, Sibtain Fazl-e-Haleem informed the participants of the meeting that work on data collection with regard to metro bus in Faisalabad is continuing. He said that on the basis of data collection, final and viable model of metro bus service would be evolved. He said that metro bus project Faisalabad would be completed within ten months. He said that Faisalabad is the third biggest city of the country with regard to population. He said that Lahore model would be followed in this regard.
Members Assembly belonging to Faisalabad and other participants of the meeting termed Faisalabad Metro Bus Project as a revolutionary step of Punjab Chief Minister. They said that this project will change the fate of Faisalabad. They also gave their proposals and suggestions with regard to various aspects of the project.
