Lahore: Provincial Food Minister and Chairman Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said that a comprehensive system of monitoring, checking and maintaining prices of everyday items has been adopted, under which citizens are being made available essential items at the stipulated rates.
He expressed these views, while monitoring prices of vegetables at Fruit Market, Badami Bagh in the morning, during which he was accompanied by Administrator Usman Mannan Sheikh, EDO Liaqat Ali and Secretary Market Committee Naeem Iftikhar Cheema.
Food Minister Bilal Yasin said that government is striving hard to provide everyday items to the citizens at inexpensive rates. He said district administrations of the province have been directed to keep a vigilant eye on the prices of everyday items, besides activating the market committees and ensuring availability of essential items. The Food Minister monitored the prices of vegetables in Badami Market and enquired from the buyers about the prices, which were being sold at stipulated rates.
The Provincial Minister directed Administrator Usman Mannan to ensure that rate lists are prominently displayed by vegetable sellers outside the market, while the entry of vendors should be banned inside the vegetable market, so that the buyers do not have to face any difficulty. Bilal Yasin said that implementation of checking and monitoring mechanism of stipulated rates would be ensured at all costs.
