Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that all the parties attending the government convened APC had opposed military operation in the Tribal areas and supported the dialogue option.
Talking to a delegation of the Jamiat e Talaba Arabia at Mansoora on Tuesday, he said that those crying for military action at this moment only wanted chaos and disruption in the country to advance their agenda. The US and India also desired to push the Pakistan army in a mire from which it would be difficult to get out, he said. The lawlessness and anarchy would provide the US an excuse for demanding international control on our nuclear assets and the elements presently opposing dialogue would be endorsing the US demand, he said.
The JI chief said the past history of those expressing their solidarity with the armed forces at this moment was before the nation, and showed how patriotic they were. On the other hand, the past of the JI was also before the nation as it had stood by the nation and the armed forces in every difficulty. In Bangladesh, the JI was even now being victimized for its loyalty to Pakistan and its armed forces.
Syed Munawar Hasan expressed the hope that the government would give priority to the dialogue option and would not take a decision as would plunge the country and the nation into chaos and anarchy.
He said the JI did not need a certificate of patriotism from any one. He said, certain elements were giving a negative meaning to the JI desire for peace through dialogue and were terming the JI as a representative of the Taliban, only to achieve their designs. The JI considered Pakistan as the fortress of Islam and the centre of Ummah’s hopes, he said. The JI wanted peace in the country as anyone else, he added.
The JI had been opposing military operation ever since 1971. The forces against Islam and Pakistan were demanding immediate military action only to push the situation to a point of No Return, for the realization of their nefarious designs, he added.
