Lahore: Farhat Mashhood, wife of Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion of Annual Meena Bazaar of Government Fatima Jinnah Degree College for Women Choona Mandi Lahore today. This Meena bazaar was held at Pine Garden of Haveli Asif Jah, the first residence of Mughal Emperor Jalaluddin Akbar adjacent to Lahore Fort. The students of Choona Mandi College and women teachers participated ceremony in multicolored dresses. The students welcomed Begum Farhat Mashhood in the meena bazaar by shower floral petals. The chief guest reviewed the quality of traditional foods of Lahore by visiting the stalls. She also went to fortune teller students besides visiting the stalls of Bengals, ceramics works and embroidery.
On this occasion, the students also enjoyed various games including swings.
Giving her impressions to media, Begum Farhat Mashhood said that civilized display of joys plays a key role in the mental nurture of the children. She said that extra-curricular activities are an integral part of education and teaching. She said that our students are talented and the dream of progress and prosperity of Pakistan cannot be materialized without participation of women, especially young generation. She was also photographed with students at different stalls and assured to maintain the educational standard of Choona Mandi Girls College and continuing colourful cultural traditions of Lahore in the institution on behalf of education minister.
