Lahore: Rosie Dastgir a British writer and novelist expressed her views in a ceremony of her novel “A small Fortune” here in Lahore. Her novel is a beautiful collection of his memories about Pakistani and Asian immigrants. Rosie is a British writer, born in England to a Pakistani father.
A small Fortune represents the qualities of a splendid prose which can be visualized as an elegantly woven Pakistani textiles stitched with the western lace. In her novel she narrates experiences of the two worlds of the immigrant family. With insight, affection, and a great gift for character and story, Dastgir immerses us in a rich, beautifully drawn immigrant community and complex extended family.
She considers the challenges between relatives of different cultural backgrounds, generations, experiences and the things they have to teach one another. A Small Fortune offers an affectionate and affecting look at class, culture, and the heartbreak of misinterpretation. Mustansar Hussain Tarar, Salima Hashmi, Atta ul Haq Qasmi, Amjad Islam Amjad and other prominent literary personalities were present there. Writer has also exchange her experience in writing and literature with Pakistani writers.
