YDA condemns health department’s pick and choose policy

Lahore: Punjab Health Department’s U-turn on its so called “Strict Policy” of not posting the medical officers selected by Punjab Public Service Commission as Postgraduate Trainees in Teaching Hospitals and is appointing Medical Officers as Trainee Medical Officers on choose and pick basis. 25 Medical Officers who had a low merit have been adjusted at Different Teaching Hospitals to continue their Postgraduate Training. While the others of higher Merit are being humiliated by the Bureaucracy of Health Department and their applications are not being entertained by the same.

Four Months ago Punjab Public Service Commission selected 2000 Medical Officers and the Health Department refused to allow them to continue their Postgraduate training by demanding an illegal affidavit from them imposing a ban on training and marriage. And now surprisingly the Health Secretary Punjab has given permission to some blue eyed Medical Officers while he is refusing even to meet others. The Representatives of Selected Medical Officers Dr. Shahzad, Dr. Imran and Dr. Ahmad have demanded Chief Minister Punjab to take notice of this illegality and violation of merit. They further said they will take up the matter in court.
