Lahore: Vice Chairman Metro Bus Authority, Kh. Ahmad Hasaan has said that traveling facilities like metro bus was a dream which was materialized by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He said that metro bus facility would be expanded to other big cities of the country under a phased programme. He disclosed that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus service on February 28. He said that Lahore Metro Bus Project is a living proof of Pak-Turk friendship and this friendship will further strengthen in future.
These views were expressed by him while addressing the function held in connection with completion of one year of Metro Bus Authority here today. Members National Assembly Pervez Malik, Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad, Members Provincial Assembly Kh. Imran Nazir, Ramzan Siddique Bhatti, Chairman Al-Barak Binyamin Karaka, Shaheen Ardogan, employees and their families attended the function in large numbers.
Kh. Ahmad Hasaan said that about four crore forty four lakh people benefitted from metro bus service during one year whereas one lakh fifty thousand people are benefitting from cheap, comfortable and speedy travelling facility of international standard daily. He said that the cooperation of Turk brethren has played prominent role in the success of metro bus service.
Addressing the function, MNAs Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmad and Pervez Malik said that PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Khadim-e-Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif have won the hearts of Lahorites by giving the gift of metro bus. MPAs Kh. Imran Nazir and Ramzan Siddiqu Bhatti said that the people travelling by metro bus feel themselves as VIP.
