Lahore: Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce & Investment, Ch. Muhammad Shafiq has said that strong relations with international trade circles are essential for the promotion of trade sector and strengthening of business institutions.
He said this while addressing the participants of SAARC Conference here today. President Tariq Saeed, Secretary General Iqbal Tabish, Mr. Jotti from Nepal, Mr. Kisala from Sri Lanka, Anees ul Haq from Bangladesh, Iftikhar Malik Chairman Guard Group of Pakistan and other businessmen from various countries were present on the occasion.
Ch. Muhammad Shafiq said that we will have to work together by ignoring tensions of the past for development of strong business relations between the neighboring countries. He said that there is no dearth of talent and resources in Pakistan but the shortage of energy has caused irreparable loss to the national economy. He said that steps taken by the present government to overcome energy crisis are commendable.
Ch. Shafiq said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is striving hard to cope with the energy crisis and it is not mere a lip service rather the work has formally been started at various power projects. He said that power supply will start from Quaid-e-Azam Power Project in near future while power supply from Nandipur Project is expected within a few months. The Minister said that International Garments City is being established in Pakistan where all facilities will be available.
