Lahore: Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif MNA has said that we will observe valentine day when terrorism and extremism would be eliminated from the country as our nation is facing the challenge of establishment of peace. He said that the problem of terrorism cannot be resolved in a day. He said that whatever result of dialogue with the Taliban is, we have to resolve problem at every cost as it is matter of the existence of the nation.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif expressed these views while talking to media after addressing Annual Sports Day ceremony in Kinnaird College, here today. MNA Shaista Pervaiz Malik, Principal Dr. Rukhsana David and a large number of female students attended the ceremony. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif also distributed prizes among the players showing outstanding performance.
Addressing the ceremony, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that male, female students and youth are our future. He said that last year, 25 new records were set during Punjab Youth Festival while this year target of 40 records will be achieved. He said that despite unfavourable economic conditions, social obstacles and security problems, our youth is moving forward with confidence to face the challenges of the future. He said that national unity is the most effective weapon against terrorism and we have to win this battle at all cost.
Hamza Shahbaz said that PML-N government is very serious about the rights of women and children especially students. He said that Punjab government has allocated Rs.10 billion for poor and deserving intelligent students while endowment fund of Rs.2 billion has been allocated for poor student showing outstanding performance in sports. He said that former Principal of Kinnaird College has been appointed as Provincial Ombudsperson in Punjab which is the only example in Punjab.
Talking to media, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that some elements promoted terrorism in the country for sake of their nefarious designs but now the nation want permanent solution of this problem. He said that though innocent citizens are being killed during dialogue but the government’s team is making its best efforts for the success of dialogue process. He said that the elements who want to sabotage dialogue have become active but the nation should be hopeful that the last victory would of peace. Replying to a question, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that Sindh government has also launched Youth Festival on the pattern of Punjab government and we wish them best of luck.
