Lahore: Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Mian Ata Muhammad Manika has said it is a matter of satisfaction that a joint declaration of Ittehad Bain ul Muslemeen was approved by ulema of all schools of thought unanimously few days ago.
The Minister said he is happy that the ulema decided to maintain the atmosphere of unity and religious harmony by foiling the conspiracies of the enemies which is proof of their wisdom and sagacity. He said that the government will play its due role in this regard.
He expressed these views in an interview to FM95 radio during his visit to Punjab Institute of Language, Art & Culture, Gaddafi Stadium, here today. Director General Khalid Mehmood Kazmi and Director Dr. Sughra Sadaf also accompanied the Minister.
Mian Ata Muhammad Manika said that religious harmony exists in Pakistan for centuries. He said that spiritual leaders won the hearts of non-Muslims with their noble deeds and Islamic teachings.
The Minister urged upon the ulema to come forward for the supremacy of law and constitution to eliminate terrorism from the society. He said that nation is facing the menace of terrorism and corruption. He said that Islam teaches us to adopt responsible attitudes in our daily matters.
Mian Ata Muhammad Manika said that it is our duty to forward the message of Quran and philosophy of life to our youth to create awareness among them about the destruction of sectarianism in the society.
