Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has announced launching of a full scale campaign against the sell out of important national institutions in the name of privatization, with the active support of political and religious parties besides workers.
In his presidential address at an all parties anti Privatization conference at Mansoora, he said that in spite of harmful results of privatization, the rulers wanted to hand over state institutions to their favourites on throw away prices. He said if the rulers could not run these institutions, they should admit their failure and withdraw their tall promises made to the public during the election campaign.
He said instead of checking corruption and mismanagement, the government was planning to sell state institutions to the people who were actually responsible for their present condition. However, he said the rulers’ designs in this regard wont materialize.
The JI Ameer called upon the rulers to account for the huge amounts obtained from the sell out of the national banks and other institutions in the past.
The moot was also addressed by JUP’s Pir Ejaz Hashmi, PPP’s Naveez Chaudhary, Ahle hadith scholar Hafiz Ibtesam Elahi Zaheer, NAP’s Ehsan Wyne, JUI’s Maulana Sanaullah, PTI’s Rana Zubair Abdullah, NLF’s chief Shamsur Rahman Swati, PREM Union leader Hafiz Salman Butt, WAPDA Piagham Union’s S.D. Saqib.
JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, in his address, called upon the Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif to explain why the Punjab province was getting an unfair treatment under the PML(N) federal government in respect of the CNG supplies. He said the rulers were least interested in controlling corruption, the root cause of economic crisis. He said, the secret of the progress of the advanced countries was that they built national institutions on strong footings and their workers were given their rights and facilities which increased their efficiency and productivity.
Hafiz Ebtesam Elahi Zaheer suggested that instead of selling out state institutions, the rulers should sell out their palaces. He said the rulers had filled their coffers by plundering public wealth.
He remarked that if the people voted to power the capitalists and US slaves, they should be ready to such problems. He said the solution of the ailing economy of the country was not with the IMF or the World Bank.
ANP’s Ehsan Wyne lauded the services of the JI for the country and the nation and for democracy.
JUI’s Maulana Sanaullah , in his address, remarked that in fact the rulers were heading for familization of the institutions in the name of privatization. He said, privatization gave birth to exploitation and injustice.
PPP leader Naveed Chaudhary said that the national institutions were st ate symbols and their sell out was against national interest. He said that the rulers ere feeding the already rich by depriving the poor of their two time meals.
