Lahore: Students of the Government College University Lahore Wednesday gave away a pleasant surprise to their favorite teacher and Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman by organizing a special function to celebrate his birthday.
The Vice Chancellor became surprise to see the cake with his name on it when he came to Abdus Salam Hall to attend a scheduled oath-taking ceremony of Hiking and Mountaineering Club of GCU. A large number of faculty members were also present on the occasion.
“I didn’t know that I am coming to my birthday celebrations. I was invited to an oath taking ceremony and all I was expecting to have an interactive session with newly-appointed office bearers of the club,” said Prof Rahman while cutting his birthday cake. He said that he had always encouraged a strong and healthy academic relationship between students and teachers.
He reminded the greatest day of his life when one of his teachers, aged 85 years, came to his office to congratulate him on his appointment as Vice Chancellor of GCU.
