Zakiya Shahnawaz distributes Auqaf money for jehaiz

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Population Welfare Zakiya Shahnawaz distributed ‘Jahez Fund’ among 75 deserving women at the rate of Rs.15 thousand each, here today.

On the directions of Punjab government, Auqaf Department has allocated a grant of Rs.11.25 lakh for ‘Jahez Fund’ which is distributed among the deserving women every month at the rate of Rs.15 thousand per woman.

Addressing the meeting of Jahez Fund Committee, Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz said that meeting of Jahez Fund Committee is held every month in which applications for Jahez Fund are received and Jahez Fund Forms are distributed among all committee members. She said that the committee members distribute cheques of financial assistance among the deserving poor women after interview and verification so that they could purchase necessary items for the marriages of their daughters. She further said that the basic aim of the Jahez Fund Committee is to provide maximum financial assistance to the deserving women for the marriages of their daughters.

Mrs. Naseem Tariq, Ghazala Saad Rafique, Mrs. Sohail Zia Butt, Mrs. Nafisa Ameen and Administrator Data Darbar Rashid Ahmed Khan are included in the Committee.
