Vigorous crackdown would be launched in PU:Minister for Law

Rana Sana Ullah KhanLahore: Provincial Minister for Law & Local Government, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that Mian Mehmood ur Rashid is ignorant of the law regarding contempt of court and he should read the law before making any comment. He said that elections cannot be held in Punjab under Local Bodies Act as the process of delimitations has been completed on non-party basis. He said that for the purpose of conducting elections on party basis, the law regarding delimitations will have to be amended. He said that the whole nation knows that Nawaz Sharif wants to promote consensus in the country while Imran Khan is promoting chaos.He was talking to media in Assembly premises here today.

Rana Sanaullah said that after Drone Drama, PTI is now going to stage price-hike drama. He said that the living standard of five to ten percent people can be raised through the expenses which PTI will incur on the protest of December 22. He said that if PTI tried to adopt the same way of stopping NATO supply at Hayatabad Toll Plaza in Punjab and took law into hand for minting money from the people, it would be dealt with an iron hand. He said that Election Commission has given the date of December 9 for the preparations of schedule and in the light of it, the process of dividing every union council in six wards is continuing which will be completed within a few days. He said that the elections on party basis do not mean that every party has been made binding to take part in elections. He said that if any party is not interested to take part in the elections above union council level, it can make it open.

Rana Sanaullah said that vigorous crackdown would be launched against the elements involved in disrupting the peace of Punjab University. Replying to a question about the arrest of some people belonging to Taliban some time ago, Rana Sanaullah said that in every society there are criminal elements but it does not mean that there is lawlessness everywhere. He said that law enforcement agencies remain busy in their own work and their round the clock efforts had resulted in arrest of Taliban elements from Punjab University.
