Sufi saints laid the foundation of peaceful society:Manika

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Atta Muhammad Manika has said that sufi saints laid the foundation of peaceful society through their character and stressed upon the people to love each other and presented a golden model of Islamic teachings. He said that we should follow the role of our sufi saints for a peaceful society and Punjab Auqaf Department is especially promoting their teachings.

He expressed these views during his visit to the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Ganj Shakr (RA) at Pakpattan, today. He also offered fateha and laid a floral wreath on the Mazar. Officers of Punjab Auqaf department were also present on the occasion. Later the Minister reviewed the facilities being provided to the devotees at the shrine and directed the officers to take maximum care of the devotees besides distribution of lunger in a transparent manner.

Atta Muhammad Manika said that Punjab Auqaf department is making efforts for the renovation of the shrines to facilitate the devotees He said that security arrangements have also been made for the protection of devotees including deployment of police force and a number of volunteers.
