Lahore: One-day training session was arranged under the aegis of Punjab Assembly and Westminster Foundation Britain wherein women assembly members were informed about the rules and regulations of the assembly.
The training session was presided over by Provincial Minister for Population Welfare, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz. Twenty members assembly belonging to the government and the opposition attended the session. While addressing the session, Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that it is very much important that the women members should be aware of the rules and regulations of the assembly and such sessions should be held continuously. She said that Punjab Assembly is thankful to Westminster Foundation for arranging such sessions for assembly members.
Addressing on the occasion, Ali Imran of Westminster Foundation Britain said that the Foundation is arranging training of Members Punjab Assembly, assembly staff and committee members for the promotion of democracy in Pakistan. He said that this 3-years training programme includes various training sessions and training visits inside and outside the country. Director General Punjab Assembly, Mehar Anayatullah threw light on the rules and regulations of Assembly and clarified the questions of Assembly Members with examples.
