Govt. is deliberately delaying the process of local body elections

Lahore: PTI Provincial President Punjab Ejaz Ch, PTI Gen. Secretary Dr. Yasmin Rashid  held a meeting of major dist. Office holders. President Ejaz Ch said that the Punjab govt. was deliberately trying to delay the process of local body elections because they were afraid that now that they have being told by the high court to have LB elections on party basis, they will be getting a bad threshing by PTI.

Ejaz ch said that there was only one reason for the delay for these elections and that was to full prepare for all types of rigging as PML-N feared that they will not get public support in these elections. He criticized the govt. performance by saying that every two weeks the prices of electricity and petrol were increasing and creating historical inflation. He said that the delimitation process has been delayed because PML-N govt. is trying to force every vote according to their own territorial preference. He demanded that the govt. immediately hand over the delimitation process to the ECP as per the constitutional requirements. He also mentioned that if the govt. will not hold LB elections in Punjab on 30^th January, 2014 PTI will protest in and outside the parliament.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid speaking on the occasion said that the government’s local body act is a deliberate attempt to prevent women and grass root development from taking place as most of the clauses of electing major office bearers rested the power to the provincial chief. She said that the fear of the govt. at losing this power has made them prevent the LB elections from taking place since the last six years.

Andleeb Abbas said that it is shameful to see that family and dynasty politics continues in PML-N she said that after handing over the whole process to Hamza Sharif, Nawaz Sharif has handed over the youth development program to Maryam Nawaz. She said that until and unless merit and rule of law will not exist the people of this country will always be enslaved by the kings and queens of the Sharif family.

Noor Khan Bhaba, Safdar Jamil and office holders from Mandibahauddin Liaqat Ali Ranjha, Falak Sher Ranjha, Younas Shahid, Sargodha Naveed Aslam Warraich, Gujrat Dst. President Ch Illyas were also present at the moment.
