Lahore: Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial inaugurated a branch of MCB bank on the premises of Lahore High Court (LHC),for the benefit of litigant public, lawyers and court officials today. All the Hon’ble Judges holding sittings at the Principal Seat, officers, advocates and management of the Bank were also present on the occasion
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Justice said that prime duty of the judiciary was to serve the people and provide justice of the litigant public. Therefore, efforts are afoot to initiate measures that could help easy and inexpensive justice with the active cooperation of lawyers community. ”Judiciary is cut off from the outer world but cannot remain aloof from the technical advancements that play an effective role within the ambit of law for the quick dispensation of justice and establishment of the bank branch will surely help safe transactions for the lawyers, their clients and the Court staff,”Hon’ble Chief Justice said. Justice Umar Ata Bandial further said that IT branch of the Court was being updated rapidly for switching over to paperless working like other developed countries to facilitate the masses in getting early disposal of their cases.
Registrar, Sardar Ahmed Naeem said that the MCB Bank was selected for the provincial Judiciary after a lengthy process of one year as it offered affordable packages He also highlighted its services like car financing and personal loan for purchase of laptops on competitive mark up rates, installation of ATMs at Lahore High Court Principal Seat and it Multan Bench. Benches at Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur will get ATMs in the near future, Registrar added. Bank President Imran Maqbool expressed gratitude for getting a chance to serve the legal fraternity and the people by joining this august historical institution.
