Enough is enough,JI demand knock down drones

March Jamaat e Islami KarachiLahore:  To voice the sentiments of masses against prolonged strikes on sovereignty of Pakistan and brutal killings of innocent people in the name of drone strikes as well as trickery policy of Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz led government on war on terror, Jamaat Islami Karachi in collaboration with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf took out a massive protest march, here on Sunday.

Tens of thousands of Karachites from all walks of life participated in the march. Flags of various political parties were hoisted on the occasion. Participants, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against drone strikes, NATO supply and behavior of Pakistani government.

JI Pakistan Amir Syed Munawar Hassan in his presidential address and said that Pakistanis from Karachi to Khyber have joined their voice against the US due to the foreign policy of America and since long measures, taken by the US has been proving it.

He said that the inflaming issue of drone strikes has become an integral part of the US foreign policy. He said that drone strikes have been used as a weapon against several but Muslim countries including Somalia and Pakistan.

He said that voters of the PML-N should asked the leadership of PML-N that why a jackal came out from the skin of a lion. He charged PML-N’s Chaudhary Nisar for presenting false statistics on the floor of assembly. He said that Nisar shamelessly claimed that so far only 66 innocent people were victimized of drone strikes against about 2000 terrorists. Syed added that Sirtaj Aziz, another prominent figure of PML-N, also claimed that the US would not strike drones during dialogue with Taliban but all went in vein.

Commenting on the statement of PM Nawaz Sharif about elimination of visa for Indians in Pakistan, he said that it would be another measure towards slavery. He added that Most Favorite Nation status for India is not aimed to provide locals with vegetables on reasonable prices, but to provide Indians with a free corridor to Kabul, so as to enhance its role in Afghanistan.

He was of the view that still thousands of millions of NATO containers are in Afghanistan. Safest recovery of these containers is very important for the US. Pakistan can use the issue, while reviewing its foreign policy. Minimum Pakistan can get killing of innocent people in drone strikes stopped in this way.

JI amir also appealed drivers and cleaners of NATO trucks not to serve terrorists and search some other source of livelihood.

JI Karachi Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman in his welcome address said that unfortunately present rulers are following the foot prints of former dictator Pervez Musharaf, who had surrendered that freedom of Pakistani nation on just a telephone call by the then American official Colon Paul.

He asked prime minister to be a man like a lion. “People will support you, if you have a courage to knock down drones,” he said and added that the march would be proved a commencement of a new freedom movement of Pakistan.

PTI central General Secretary Arif Alvi, while addressing the program said that United Nations declared drone strikes as illegal. PML-N also used to term it illegal but unfortunately have taken a uturn after joining power.

He further said he believed that PML-N government is also obeying the unannounced accords with the US. He expressed sorrow over the behavior of the government’s minister who made mockery of protest against drone strikes and NATO supply. He said that Pakistani national is an self esteemed nation. He chanted the slogans against the US and local traitors.

Sahabzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair of Milli Yakjehti Council of Pakistan said that Pakistani nation would not tolerate drone strikes, neither US’s supremacy in the territory of Pakistan. He held the US responsible for sectarian riots in the country.

He said that after fleeing of Remand Davis and killing of Hakeemullah there is no need of any other prove or argument that the US is conducting terrorism in Pakistan. He also charged that government for its pro-US policies and urged the PML-N to adopt some solid policies. He demanded of the government to knockdown drones.

Jammat Ud Dawa central leader Ameer Hamza in his address said that the United States has already committed economic, moral and diplomatic terrorism and now was shamelessly engaged in killing innocent people in drone strikes in Pakistan.

Dr. Fauzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, JI Sindh Ameer Dr. Meraj-ul-Huda Siddiqui, PTI leader Nadir Laghari and other political leaders also attended that protest.
