JI ready to sacrifice provincial govt for stopping drones attack

Lahore:  Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that if the killings of innocent citizens through drones attacks could be stopped at the risk of a provincial government, it won’t be a bad bargain.

Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said the JI would stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaaf ( PTI) in stopping the NATO supplies. One had to make huge sacrifices for the sake of major national objectives, he added.

Syed Munawar Hasan said if the federal government wanted the Khyber P, government to follow its policies, it would have to guarantee the security of the life and properties of the citizens and take decisions in line with the national honour, abandoning US slavery.

He said, after the drone attack at Hangu (Bannu), the Khyber P government had the right to stop NATO supplies for ending drone attacks. He said the federal government was saying in vague terms that no provincial government could go against the federal government policies. However, the fact was that the federation had failed to fulfill its responsibilities to protect the life and property of the citizens. He noted that the government had not even lodged a strong protest over the drone attack at Hangu, the first attack in the country’s settled area.

Syed Munawar Hasan remarked that the present rulers who had secured power on the election symbol of tiger, should act like tigers and not be cowards like jackals.

If the PML(N) leaders stands like a tiger against the US aggression, the whole nation would stand by his side, he assured. He also stressed upon the PML (N) voters to see Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the form of delegations and demand stoppage of NATO supplies and drone attacks as promised by the party during election campaign.

He said that the real power lay with the masses who could force their rulers to take any decision.

The JI Ameer welcomed the assurances from China and Russia that the region wont be allowed to be destabilized. He also appreciated the bold stance of the representatives of China and Brazil in the United Nations against the drone attacks, and expressed the hope that the justice lowing nations of the world wont remain silent on US aggression and terrorism.

The JI Ameer called for making public the report of the Rawalpindi enquiry commission. At the same time, he said, all those who had incurred financial losses in the tragedy must be compensated without delay.

He deplored that the terrorists of the CIA, RAW and Black Water were roaming about all over the country like Raymond Davis while the security organizations were indifferent and inefficient.
