A delegation of MasterCard Company call on CM Punjab

Lahore: A delegation led by President MasterCard Company Middle East and Africa Michael Miebach met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Matters regarding introduction of MasterCard for improving performance of various sectors in Punjab were discussed on the occasion.

Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government is following the policy of transparency and solid measures have been taken for promotion of good governance in the province. He said that efficiency of government departments and service delivery system could be improved through introduction of the MasterCard. He said that transparency is the hallmark of Punjab government and an effective strategy has been adopted for transparent completion of development projects and elimination of corruption from government departments. He said that Punjab government will extend all out cooperation to MasterCard Company in introducing MasterCard. He said that health insurance scheme is being launched for providing quality health services to the poor masses and MasterCard can be helpful in this scheme. He said that importance of modern MasterCard for the simplification of the process of recovery of taxes is established. The Chief Minister directed to devise a roadmap for the promotion of collaboration between Punjab government and MasterCard Company and setting up of a joint committee for this purpose.

President MasterCard Company Middle East and Africa Michael Miebach said that his company wanted to cooperate with Punjab government for improving efficiency of provincial institutions. He said that matters relating to launching of the MasterCard are being settled with Bank of Punjab speedily. He said that MasterCard has been introduced in various countries of the world for simplifying the process of recovery of taxes and improving performance of government departments due to which better services are now available to the masses.
