Lahore: A spokesman of the Jamaat e Islami has strongly reacted to the remarks of British High Commissioner, Adam Thomson in an interview with a private TV channel that Pakistan army’s statement with reference to JI Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan’s statement was a healthy sign for democracy.
The spokesman termed the British diplomat’s views as highly improper and an interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs. He asked the diplomat if Britain allowed its armed forces to demand an explanation from any political party or issue a political statement.
The spokesman said that no body had the right to teach norms of democracy to Pakistan nor had the foreign diplomats in this country any right to comment on its political affairs. He said Pakistan ‘s biggest issue was the continuing foreign interference which should come to an end.
