SBP will organize World Professional Boxing events

Punjab Sports Board and World Professional Boxing Council signs MoURana Mashud is addressing to mediaPunjab Sports Board and World Professional Boxing Council signs MoULahore: Provincial Minister for Education and Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan while addressing a function of historic agreement between Punjab Sports Board and World Professional Boxing Council has said it is first time in the history of the country that world boxing will be held in Pakistan.

He said that 12 international boxers will participate in the competitions of International Boxing on the occasion of Youth Festival. He said that Professional Boxing Council will conduct nine international events which will result in promotion of boxing. He said that the agreement has been made with World Boxing Council for three years.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that different world records were made during Youth Festival held under the vision of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He said that Pakistan will be the 160th country where international boxing will be played and an academy will be set up.

Chairman Professional Boxing, Syed Nauman Shah said that having been impressed by youth festival, we have planned to conduct international competitions in Pakistan and expressed the hope that four to five world champions will be produced in three years.

DG Sports Board Usman Anwar, Promoter World Boxing Council Anatolia Maria Abrija and Chairman Professional Boxing Syed Nauman Shah signed the MoU.
