Musharraf is responsible for price-hike: Rana Sana

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law & Local Government, Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that ban on pillion riding has been imposed on 9^th and 10^th of Muharram-ul-Haram in Punjab. He said that 13 districts are very sensitive regarding law and order situation and there are 2749 imam bargahs in the province. A total of 79333 police officers and officials were deputed for the protection of 1338 processions and 3766 majalis on 8^th8th Muharram.

He was talking to media, here today. Rana Sanaullah Khan said that the decision of imposing ban on pillion riding has been taken for maintaining law and order in Punjab. He said that Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Muzaffargar, Lahore, Multan, DG Khan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Rahimyar Khan and Pakpattan are sensitive districts.

Rana Sanaullah said that as many as 300 people have been made house arrest in view of law and order while ten persons have been arrested on various violation and two cases have been registered for creating law and order situation. He said that in the light of directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, no comprise has been made for maintenance of peace with zero tolerance. He said that a ban has been imposed on the speeches of 1414 Ulema in view of provocative speeches.

Rana Sanaullah said that the culprits involved in Gujranwala incident would be brought to book and awarded deterrent punishment. While commenting on the controversial statement of Amir Jamaat Islami Munawar Hassan regarding martyrdom, Rana Sanaullah said that the statement of Munawar Hassan is like a suicide attack on him and his party.

While responding to a question, the Minister said that Supreme Court has extended the date for holding local bodies elections till January 30, 2014 and now Election Commission should hold the elections within the extended time. He said that Punjab Chief Minister has complete confidence in his team.

Talking about withdrawal of portfolios from some ministers, Rana Sanaullah said that it will help activate the team of Chief Minister. He said that Musharraf was responsible for breaking mechanism to check price-hike, government is considering to bring magistracy system back for checking price hike.
