A representative delegation of traders call on Punjab Chief Minister

Lahore: A representative delegation of traders’ community and industrialists called on Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today and apprised him of their problems with regard to income tax. Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, MNA Pervaiz Malik, Chairman FBR, concerned officials and other officers were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the role of traders’ community and industrialists is very important in national economy and their genuine problems are being solved on priority basis. A committee consisted of traders and government officers has been set up for solving problems of the traders.

The Chief Minister said that indiscriminate action will continue against electricity and gas thieves. He warned that strict action will be taken in case any excess is committed during electricity and gas theft campaign. He said that country is facing economic challenge and steps are being taken for increasing tax net.

Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar told that the date of submission for tax returns has been extended up to November 30. He said that steps are being taken for setting the economy on right direction and the genuine problems of the traders’ and industrialists are being solved on priority basis. He said that more than 50% population of the country is living below the poverty line and resources will have to be enhanced for improving their living standard.

Traders’ community and industrialists thanked Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for taking personal interest and resolution of their problems. They said that Shahbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar have won their hearts by taking personal interest in the resolution of their problems. They said that they are ready to pay tax but there is a need to simplify tax recovery procedure.
