Lahore: A woman from Faisalabad, Yasmin met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today and informed him about the violence by her former husband and his brothers and the apathetic of the police. The woman had tried to call on the Chief Minister at his residence the other day upon which the Chief Minister called her for meeting today.
Shahbaz Sharif said that those involved in violence on the woman will not escape punishment as per law. He said that provision of justice would be ensured to the affected woman at all costs. The Chief Minister while suspending DSP and SHO of Police Station Ghulam Muhammadabad directed that in the inquiry, if these police officials are found involved, strict disciplinary action should be taken against them.
The affected woman while narrating the details of the incident, told that her former husband is a blackmailer and involved in a heinous trade who along with his five brothers brutally tortured her and when she complained police, it registered a case against her while declaring her guilty. Yasmin said that she had come to the Chief Minister for justice and thankful to him for giving her a patient hearing.
