Lahore: The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Dr. Rizwan Naseer carried out a performance review of emergency operations in all Districts of Punjab to ensure uniform standard of the Service. The emergency data revealed that Rescue 1122 Punjab rescued 47187 victims of emergencies by conducting 44326 rescue operations in October, while maintaining its average response time of 7 minutes.
The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded includes 18235 Road Traffic Crashes, 18892 Medical emergencies, 653 Fire incidents, 28 Building Collapse incidents, 2020 Crime, 63 Drowning Incidents, 5 Explosions and 4430 other emergency operations.
While chairing a meeting of rescue officers/officials at Rescue 1122 Headquarters on Friday, DG Rescue Punjab Dr. Rizwan Naseer said that emergency data shows that fire cases & road traffic crashes are increasing day by day across the Punjab, as Rescue 1122 is responding to average 500 Road Traffic Crashes in Punjab. He said that a building control authority (BCA) is the need of the hour, which may monitor overall construction across the province for prevention of fire cases to save human life. Dr. Rizwan Naseer further directed the rescue teams to ensure emergency care during Tableeghi Ijtima & Muharram-ul-Harram. He, however, assured the citizenry that we are always there to rescue you but please do not risk your lives by living in unsafe illegally constructed buildings.
These 44326 rescue operations in October includes 7994 rescue operations in Lahore, 4568 in Faisalabad 3282 in Multan, 2286 in Gujranwala, 1451 in Bahawalpur, 1676 in Rawalpindi, 1585 in Dera Ghazi Khan, 1100 in Sargodha, 1460in Rahim Yar Khan, 1638 in Sahiwal, 1220 in Sialkot, 362 in Murree, 1433 in Jhang, 682 in Toba Tek Singh, 690 in Muzafargarh, 660 in Rajanpur, 256 in Mianwali, 507 inPakpattan, 634 in Kasur, 678 in Gujrat, 696 in Bahawalnagar, 371 in Jehlum, 609 in Attock, 1341 in Khanewal, 600 in Vehari, 277 in Chakwal, 787 in Okara, 512 in Hafizabad, 1092 in Sheikhupura, 837 in Lodhran, 339 in Nankana Sahib, 483in Khushab, 317 in Mandibaha-ud-din, 544 in Narowal, 437 in Layyah, 495 in Bhakkar and 427 in Chiniot.
